PSYCHIATRIC AND MENTAL HEALTH HOME CARE

Psychiatric and Mental Health Home Care

Mental Health Home Services are delivered to customers in their homes. (The residence has no hospital, skilled nursing facility, day rehabilitation or residential rehab facility, or adult day care facility.) This care is provided by a licensed registered nurse to customers who are unable to access office-based services. This is necessary to continue and maintain a comprehensive plan of care.

This service is only available for home-bound. (“Home-bound” is defined as a person whose medical or psychiatric condition limits their ability to safely leave home without the assistance or supervision of another individual or without the help of a supporting device and the patient’s home only leave for medical / psychiatric treatment or receive home leave often for non-medical purposes. “)

Typically, the patient has a very poor support system within the community (no family or interested party to act as concierge, family members or interested parties exist, but have poor understanding of psychiatric disorder of the client and to help have no positive effect on the improvement of the psychiatric / medical condition of the client). Services may include drugs administration, assistance in setting up a medical system, education and the monitoring of medication, and observation of the physical well-being in relation to medication side effects.

Mental Health Care Facility

The service is designed to facilitate support and increased coordination with rehabilitation services, such as community support services. This service is not intended the direct involvement of a physician / psychiatrist to be replaced in the treatment of the individual.

Mental Health Condition, or Disorder and Diagnosis

Any mental illness has its own set of signs and symptoms. Generally, however, professional assessment and assistance may be required if someone:

  • Featuring a striking, serious change in personality, eating or sleeping patterns
  • Cannot deal with problems and daily activities
  • Have strange or grandiose ideas
  • Show excessive fear when facing everyday life
  • Feel depression or worry about the usual life for more than two weeks
  • Thinking or talking about suicide
  • Abuses substances like drugs or alcohol
  • Gives extreme mood swings or excessive anger, hostility or violent behavior

Many people who have mental health conditions think their symptoms are reacting a normal part of life -like a death or illness or do they see a doctor or mental health out of disgrace or anxiety. Seeing a doctor or making an appointment with a therapist or psychologist provides an evaluation to see if the behavior or feeling are really a mental illness. There are treatment options like a physical illness, such as medication or counseling, which can help a person often return to a normal life and activities.

Mental Health Nursing Care

It is our greatest mission to help the elderly and disabled patients reach and sustain their independence and self-reliance. As a professional institute and sighting the recent focus of the United States government about reducing spending on healthcare, hospital readmissions are a costly proposition. The integration of hospital and ambulatory care is the key to reducing readmissions. Formal or strong informal relations between hospitals and the local primary care providers, such as Home Healthcare Agencies, will improve outcomes for patients and reduces the costs associated with health care spending.

Qualicare Home Health Care offers the unique ability to provide health care treatments which were previously only available in a hospital or doctor’s office to receive in the comfort of your home. Qualicare home health care offers a long list of services that are often less expensive, more convenient than and as effective as the care that you would receive in a hospital or skilled nursing facility. In general, the goal of home health care is to provide treatment for an illness or injury. For our patients, we are committed to improving patient access to much-needed health care. In doing so, we focus on minimizing the devastating personal consequences of illness, accident or disability in our patients and their families.
